Title: Research Assistant
Teresia Mruma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics from the University of Dar es Salaam. She is currently advancing her expertise by pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts in Applied Economics at the same institution. Ms. Mruma has a profound interest in research on poverty reduction, food security, climate change, social protection, and gender equality.
As a Research Assistant at the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), she plays a pivotal role in managing and coordinating various research projects that aim to foster social and economic development. One of her ongoing initiatives is the project titled “Dignity at Work: Improving Employer-Worker Relations in Informal Labor Market.” which seeks to improve the working conditions of domestic workers through dignity training. This project is a collaborative effort involving esteemed institutions such as the University of Zurich, the Norwegian School of Economics, UC Irvine, and CVM Tanzania. Additionally, Ms. Mruma participated in implementing the project titled “Transition from Education to Employment for Young Women in Tanzania,” which was funded by the Research Council of Norway. This project was executed in partnership with the CHR Michelsen Institute (CMI) of Norway and Ruka Creatives, demonstrating her commitment to empowering young women through education and employment opportunities.
