In an effort to support youth livelihood in Tanga Region, the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) in partnership with Innovex and Tanga City Council have set a programme “Tanga Yetu Initiative” to strengthen capacity of the Tanga City Council to deliver services; improve access and quality of social and other related services (health, education, social welfare, etc.); and promote skills development, innovation and entrepreneurship.On 21st June 2021, ESRF as Backbone Organization to the Programme conducted the Steering Committee meeting in Tanga Region, aimed at tracking progress of Tanga Yetu Initiative and deliberate on the selected key projects such as Redevelopment of Jamhuri Park and Raskazone Beach. The meeting was attended by members of Steering Committee, Tanga City Director, Lord Mayor, Government Officials, D Lab representatives, Innovex, ESRF staff and representatives from Fondation Botnar.The Tanga Yetu Initiative is supported by Fondation Botnar, a Swiss-based Foundation that champions the use of AI and digital technology to improve the health and wellbeing of young people in a growing urban environment.
