Venue: Dodoma, Tanzania

The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) in collaboration with the Government of Tanzania with the support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are jointly implementing the Capacity Development for Research Based Management and Audit Project in six Districts namely Bunda, Nyasa, Ileje, Bukoba rural, Sengerema and Ikungi Districts.

In 2014, ESRF conducted the assessment and mapping studies in the above six districts. Among other findings, the studies found that there was a gap in knowledge management, information sharing and communication within the districts. Hence, the studies recommended several interventions to be put in place to bridge the gap in the respective districts.

To respond to this need, ESRF and UNDP in partinership with the district councils and other stakeholders, designed and developed the district websites. Also supported the establishment and provided operation costs to Community radios to enhance communication for exchange and sharing of information.

ESRF also established Maendeleo studio and Maarifa (online) TV to bridge the above gap.

The objective of this training is to build capacity of district website and community radios administrators to manage the websites and link them to community radios, maendeleo studio, Maarifa TV and M-Kilimo platforms
