Tanzania is among 22 countries around the world that benefits from the Ford Foundation International Fellowship Program (IFP). IFP seeks to identify emerging leaders from marginalized communities normally from historically disadvantaged groups including racial, ethnic, and religious minorities and people living with disabilities. The program was established in the year 2001, and is expected by 2004 it will have selected approximately 4,300 fellows.

In 2008, TIFPA in conjunction with Tujijenge a micro finance company entered into an agreement to run a “credit finance” project which will involve rendering loans to small entrepreneurs. Tujijenge is a company limited by guarantee registered under the Tanzania’s Company Act and deals with providing financial services to the small entrepreneurs and minorities as well as physically challenged people.

TIFPA will tap into Tujijenge’s expertise of dealing with small entrepreneurs in order to accomplish our social mission.
