Pre- Budget Policy Dialogue 2016.

    On April 22nd 2016, The Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) organized a pre-budget policy dialogue with the aim of analyzing the Government Budget of 2015/16 with specific focus on Education and Agriculture Sectors. The forum provided room to critically analyze the 2015/16 budget by pointing out its outstanding features and assessing its quality vis-ŕ-vis the country’s expectations.     The dialogue comes from the fifth and final budget for implementing the Five Year Development Plan (FYDP) 2011/12-2015/16 and also marking the end of the MKUKUTA II and the 2010-2015 ruling party manifesto of the fourth phase government.     The Education and Agriculture sectors are among the key sectors that are major contributors to the development of the country. Thus through this policy dialogue participants were able to critically analyze the areas that seem to have been underrated or gaps left unattended and mention the budgets likely constructive contributions in the management of the economy and social services to be considered for the upcoming budget 2016/17.
