    Anna Mwasha, Director Poverty Eradication Department, Ministry of Finance cutting a ribbon to mark the opening of the Studio — at Economic and Social Research Foundation.

    On February 11st, 2014 the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) in collaboration with the Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Finance – Poverty Eradication Department and through the support from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) inaugurated a Content Development Center known as MAENDELEO STUDIO.

    The inauguration ceremony was held at ESRF Auditorium, officiated by the Director of Poverty Alleviation Department and Empowerment in the Ministry of Finance, Ms. Anna Mwasha. Other dignitaries included Dr. Hoseana Buhoela Lunogelo the Executive Director of ESRF, Dr Oswald Mashindano a Senior Lecturer, Economics Department at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and attended by researchers from both private and public institutions, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and various stakeholders.

    In her speech, Ms. Mwasha stated that the government is highly impressed by the Economic and Social Research Foundation’s initiative in establishing the studio, she said the Ministry of Finance is ready to offer support bearing in mind that the targeted beneficiaries are rural dwellers.

    Government of Tanzania Commissioned ESRF to Work on Localization of Post 2015 Development Agenda

    The Government of Tanzania through the President’s Office, Planning Commission (POPC) commissioned the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) to organize consultation workshops to address the implementation issues in the localization of the post 2015 development agenda.

    The work was the result of the similar work which the Foundation did in December 2012 whereby about seven workshops were conducted in seven zonal representing all regions of Tanzania Localization of the Post-2015 Development Agenda: Consultation with the Local Government Authorities (LGAs) in Morogoro, Tanzania

    Mobile Kilimo Starts Operation in Bunda

    On 11 June 2014 the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) through Knowledge Management Department with the support from the Government of Tanzania and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) launched Mobile Kilimo Initiative in Bunda, Mara Region. The launching ceremony was officiated by Bunda District Commissioner, Mr. Joshua Mirumbe.
